Fundraising for the Hāna Hub in this Gift-Giving Season!
Aloha Kākou,
We are excited to share this opportunity to be part of the foundational springboard effort to establish the long-awaited Hāna Hub! We are seeking funding and donations for this project as outlined in the letter below, and request your support!
The Hāna Hub fiscal sponsor, Hāna Business Council, is beginning a fund to raise capital for the Hāna Hub project with an preliminary goal of $60,000 being sought from donors, to cover the property lease and management costs for the Hāna Hub site location at 20 Uwala Road. Initiated by a seed money contribution of $20,000 from the Hāna Maui Trust, we are excited to have community engagement to develop this ʻāina for our next generation leaders and ʻohana. To access the pdf for the donation request go to 24_11_18 HBC Hāna Hub Donation Request.
In addition to donations, ongoing grant funding has been provided through the Maui County Department of Agriculture, and to date we have thus far compiled the Hāna Hub Proof of Concept Report developed with the University of Hawaiʻi Community Design Center funded through a $100,000 grant awarded from 2022-2023; and a current $36,000 grant as we enter into Phase II.
With the Hāna Business Council acting as the fiscal agent for the lease of this land, checks can be written to the HBC with Hāna Hub in the memo and mailed to PO Box 856, Hāna, HI 96713, or online payments will be gratefully received at https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/KXUQL5YGJXJRQ.
