Hāna Hub Acquisition On Track & Community Activities Updates

With the passing of the FY26 County of Maui Budget, the eagerly anticipated funding has been designated to the HBC – $2.1 Million for the acquisition of the 20 Uwala Road Property under the Open Space funding, $10,000 from the designated East Maui budget proviso funding for HBC operations, and $200,000 for resilience hub development under the Maui Emergency Management Agency.

HĀNA HUB COMMUNITY ACTIVITY UPDATES

Since December 2024, the Hāna Hub Pavilion has been hosting Maui Humane Society clinics at the Hāna Hub Pavilion every 6 weeks. An article, Maui Humane Society’s Hana Mobile Veterinary Clinics (reposted on HānaMaui.com), shares information about the services provided was also printed in the Spring 2025 Edition of the Hānaside News.

Starting in February 2025, Ohana Makamae has been facilitating food distributions on behalf of the Maui Food Bank every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, operating out of the Hāna Hub kitchen/pavilion area.

Ohana Makamae Inc. has launched a Food Security Program to support those affected by the Lahaina fires and our East Maui ʻohana facing food insecurity. Thanks to the support of Maui United Way, eligible participants can receive food deliveries twice a month, with help available for urgent needs too.
